FAQs: Get the Answers You Need to Know
What services do you offer?
Honey Tree Farms provides leased AI-driven hardware (PIC cameras and THAWL sensors) with predictive monitoring, pollen traceability, and dashboard analytics for beekeepers and landowners. We focus on non-invasive hive health insights, forage mapping, pollination data, crop yields, harvest forecasting, and sustainability data to enhance productivity, reduce losses, and support premium honey sales—starting with beekeeping and expanding to livestock and land monitoring.
How does your technology work?
Our systems use modular, non-invasive hardware deployed on existing hives to capture real-time data on pollen flows, environmental conditions, and bee activity. Our AI processes this edge-side for efficiency, with cloud uploads delivering alerts and insights via a secure dashboard. Integration with labeling tools enables end-to-end traceability from hive to harvest.
What is the PIC system?
The Pollen Identification Camera (PIC) is a compact, hive-mounted device that uses high-resolution imaging and AI to classify pollen types, detect varroa mites, and monitor bee behavior—providing provenance data and health alerts without disturbing the colony.
What is THAWL?
THAWL is something we can’t wait to share with you…but we must! Check back soon!
How do I join the pilot program?
We've capped our initial UK pilots with our selected partners, but have a waitlist available and slots do open up as we progress. Submit interest via our contact form with details on your apiary size, location, and goals. We'll review and respond within 2 weeks—priority for operations aligning with traceability and sustainability needs.
Can I request a product demo?
Yes—contact us to schedule a virtual demo of the dashboard, hardware overview, and sample insights. For qualified partners, we offer on-site pilot discussions to showcase integration with your hives.
When does the pilot program end?
Our current pilots run through Q2 2026, with phased evaluations and refinements based on performance data. Extensions may be available for high-performing sites as we transition to full launch.
When will you officially launch?
Full commercial rollout in the UK is targeted for mid-2026, following pilot validation and regulatory certifications. Early access via pilots is available now for select partners.
Where do you ship to?
We currently ship hardware to the UK and select EU regions for pilots. Full international expansion (including US and Australia) is planned post-launch in 2026 and 2027, subject to local regulations.
Is your technology compatible with my hives?
PIC and THAWL are designed for standard Langstroth, National, and Warre hives. If your hive isn’t listed, reach out to us and we can look into adding it in the future. Custom adaptations are available for non-standard setups during pilots.
How secure is my data?
All data is GDPR-compliant, with edge-side processing, encrypted uploads, and strict retention schedules. We conduct DPIAs and provide privacy notices—your insights remain private unless you choose to share for research or reporting.
What kind of ROI can I expect?
Users see 2-5x returns through reduced losses (e.g., 20-30% fewer swarm events), premium honey pricing (60-120% boosts via traceability), and higher pollination contracts (2-4x rates). For a 50-hive operation, net gains can exceed £1,000 annually after costs.
